The Channel Islands are an island chain located off the Southern California Coastline. The national park consists of 5 islands spread across 160 miles of ocean, reachable only by boat or seaplane. Their isolation has left them almost totally undeveloped, offering beautiful landscapes, nature and tranquility. One of the least visited parks in the US, if you are wanting to explore sea caves, glimpse at jutting rock cliffs and sea nature you can't anywhere else, plan a visit to Channel Islands National Park.
Joshua Tree National Park is located about 2.5 hours outside Los Angeles and close to Palm Springs. It is made up of both the Mojave and Colorado deserts with over 800,000 acres. It is a land of varying desert landscapes from row after row of Joshua Tree to towering boulders and wildlife.
Hot summer temperatures make the best time to visit over the winter and spring. A park full of great trails, rock climbing/bouldering and star gazing. For the best experience grab a campsite at one of the many campgrounds or head out into the desert for a night under the stars.
