Over the years Andrew and I have spent a small fortune on cameras and gear for shooting my Youtube episodes and taking pictures. I have personally gone through many cameras, Gopros, tripods and microphones. Some things I have loved and some things I have hated. Many things broke due to cheap parts like my old lightweight tripod, or our Sennheiser shotgun mic that rarely ever lasted for more than 5 minutes. Sometimes gear is broken due to user error, like the time my camera strap came untied and my telephoto lens smashed on the concrete in Yosemite or the time our first drone took a swim in the Pacific Ocean. Through all my experiences in different countries, different climates, weather and situations I have come to love certain pieces.
Here is a list of the gear I currently own. This is also a guide for those trying to up their game in the photography or video realm and those looking for great gear for guerilla style shooting.
I shoot with a Canon XC10 if you are looking to get into or are already in video production and want a great compact video camera that also takes great photos this is a safe bet.
Tripods & Selfie Poles
I have lots of other items that I take with me on trips from my Ipad, to my solar chargers for keeping all my batteries juiced up. If you have any questions about any other gear or what might work best for you, please feel free to reach out.
