I had never thought of Chicago as a place I wanted to take a vacation to. However I had the pleasure of being placed here for work for a few weeks and quickly fell in love with the city. A beautiful city especially if you love architecture, also one of the cleanest and easiest walking cities I have ever had the pleasure of being stuck in without a car. I have enjoyed walking through the neighborhoods of Streeterville, River North and East and Lincoln Park. This city has an indefinite attention to detail, from the food to the attractions and a plethora of activities, something for everyone. One of my favorite things is that so many of the restaurants source from local farms and change the menu with the season. There are also many LEED certified buildings in downtown, as well as recycling at every garbage can on the street.
Chicago is a city where I fell in love in more ways than one. One of the most interesting and unforgettable few weeks I've had in my life. The beginnings of an epic romance, the lasting memories of a laughing nephew, a smiling sister, new friends and old, exquisite food and culinary adventures. A time not soon to be forgotten. Waltz's in fountains in rain storms, dodging lightening under the Bean, 5 Star meals, drinks in Tiki heads, ER visits, days I shopped till I dropped. Rooftop sunsets, running along the water, laughing so hard I cried. Speakeasy's & supper-clubs, cooking classes and comedy clubs. A place where you won't soon get bored; And that you can find new adventures around every turn.
